Private -Walter Kenneth Cooper 58391 - 2nd / 4th Battalion York & Lancaster – Formally 20021 the Yorkshire Regiment, Died on 5th of November 1918 at Frasnoy northern France, is buried in Awoingt British Cemetery, France. He lived/worked in Eston, South Bank Middleborough, married Florence Beatrice Cox on 15th of December 1917.
Walter was my Granduncle, my grandmother’s younger brother they came from a large family, even for those days (14), 10 of whom lived into adulthood, I am immensely proud to be related to him, He was married less than a year, I haven’t researched if he had children. Unfortunately I don’t have any photographs of him or his family.
A lot of the above information was given by other rootschat members.

Thank you for that information, it will all add to Walters’s story. I assume the attestation papers are on pay site(s) only?

Hi
Yes the attestation and service record is on Ancestry. There are a lot of pages c 15 and there is also his medal card.Your local library may have the site for free. It's always worth a look.
Apparently they are also available to view at one of the Morman Family History Centers. These would be free.
As we are coming up to Remembrance Day Ancestry often has special offers around that time.It is often free to view those records on Remembrance Weekend for instance.

There are also 18 family trees with him in on Ancestry. It's playing up at the moment so it won't ley me view them but one of them may have photos.

Thanks gents, really appreciated, I will keep a lookout for ancestry offers! And  try a newspaper/photo lookup for him soon.
I was born late in life (was a small boy when my grandmother died) I have very little from the cooper family. My sisters (much older) said my grandmother always mentioned her brother Walter.

Good Morning
If you're stuck pm me with your email and I'll send a copy of his service records by email or several emails given the amount of pages.
