1939 Register shows a possible offspring for William and Edith - there is a redacted member.

Possibly no children for James and Mary Bowley.

It is possible to check via FreeBMD and/or GRO whether there are any children.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

No children showing in 1921 for William and Edith.

James Bowley is a boarder in the same household, although not yet married to Mary!

Well that is interesting James Bowley was a boarder and his future wife's brother's house

James married Mary in 1923 so that makes sense
