Hello Mrsgrew and welcome to RootsChat.

Charles birth registration is available on Scotlands People, reg no 629 / 48.
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/record-results/6220602636430c715a4630

Free to search, I think you need to register (free), but you need to buy credits to view the certificate. This should have his parents names.

Yes, you need to purchase his birth certificate for information about his parents.
If you have his marriage certificate, what information do see on it?
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

Scottish birth certificate should also list date and place of parents' marriage (if they were married). Sometimes the marriage details are not totally accurate but can be a good starting point if you wish to trace further back.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

The following is speculation. The birth record as mentioned will confirm the following and the marriage below will give details of George & Elizabeth but it will need to be checked.

GEORGE CALLANDER DOBBIE   MOTHER    BLACK   BORN 1912   DUNFERMLINE

GEORGE CALLANDER DOBBIE   1ST MARRIED       ELIZABETH MACKAY HASSAN NEE WATSON   1935   DUNFERMLINE

Valuation Roll 1935, maybe George?
DOBIE   GEORGE      TENANT   HOUSE 1/A BROWNLEE ROAD LAW   CARLUKE   1935

So did Elizabeth die and George remarried?

GEORGE C DOBBIE      MARRIED 2ND    MARY MURPHY PORTER   1967   TILLICOULTRY

Did George move to Lancashire.

Deaths Dec 1974
DOBBIE    GEORGE CALLANDER    4OC1912    LANCASTER    40   1727

Deaths Mar 1982
DOBBIE    MARY    14AU1904    LANCASTER    40   1994

All seems to be too much of a coincidence.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

If you are using Ancestry only, then it's no wonder you are having difficulty with the Scottis parts of your tree.

See https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=714261.0
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
