Census information

Hi, I am trying to find who was living at The Limes 4 High Road Orsett Essex. This is the address now, not sure if it would have been called this in 19c. It’s a large house that would have had servants and a stables. It s on the corner of High Road and Rectory Road opposite the Whitmore Arms Public house.

Is it on here? The roads are not named but you can probably recognise them nd tell us the location of the house.

ADDEDHave you tried looking at the enumerators route on censuses, this will say which end of High Street they started & you can follow route to junction.

This for instance is the enumerator's route from 1911.

ADDED: Oh sorry as it's a look up board I can't post an image.

ADDED 2: Is it the diagonally placed building on the SW corner of the junction?

Thank you both. It is the big house on the corner by Rectory Road where it says B188. The house is still there.

I’m taking a group from our U3A to visit the 12/15c St Giles and All Saints church and wanted to have a bit of history to be able to make it more interesting before the pub lunch.🍷😜

Adverts continue through the whole of 1875, but stop in January 1876.

Mary Emma Davies, of the Limes, Orsett, was charged with stealing 6s. from a box in a bedroom at the Limes, Orsett, the money of Thomas Williams, on Sept. 9. – The prosecutor said the defendant lived at the Limes as nurse to Mrs. Judd, who occupied half the premises. He kept money in the cashbox produced in his bedroom.–The defendant said she did not take the money, and did not know how it came in her purse. She pleaded not guilty.–The defendant was fined Ł2 and costs, or in default 14 days.–She elected to go to prison, saying she had not stolen the money, and would not pay.
