Edmund Beaumont - HELP
« on: Thursday 17 August 23 17:50 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

Im trying to research my ancestors nd have tracked them to Norfolk. However I have come across a brick wall. There is a couple that I cannot find ANY information on apart from the death. Its almot as if there is no record.

Edmund Beaumont, born circa 1733 and died Jan 15 1799. He had a wife named Mary, last name unknown. Could anyone help or have any ideas on how I can find information? I have looked on the Norfolk archives, Norfolk Gypsy archive data, family search, myheritage ect. I am truely stumped.

Presumably they had children, where and when were they born. Could you please give their names

Edmund and Mary had John Beaumont, born 1744 in Norwich, Norfolk. He married Ann Blackburn/ Ann Blackbone.  There are no records of any other children.

How can Edmund have had a child in 1744 if he was born in 1733? That would make him 11...

There is a marriage between an Edmund Beaumont and Mary Golden on 30th October 1739 in Norwich. I think Elizabeth may actually have been baptised in 1740, based on the image of the register.

EDIT - Edmund and Mary were both of the parish of Costessey.

I was thinking that but I'm not even sure he was born in 1733, the burial record I found said circa so I am presuming he was born before that year. Thank you so much for this information! I have been trying to look for at least SOMETHING for weeks...

I was thinking that but I'm not even sure he was born in 1733, the burial record I found said circa so I am presuming he was born before that year.

The 66-year-old Edmund Beaumont who was buried in 1799 in Great Yarmouth was described as a widower in his burial record. A 54-year-old Elizabeth, wife of Edmund Beaumont, was buried in 1788 in the same parish.

I'm thinking that this Edmund is not your Edmund, father of John (bap. 1744). Your Edmund's birth year is probably closer to that of Mary Golden, whose likely baptism hepburn has provided.
