Charles Redvers Chatten
« on: Wednesday 14 February 24 18:16 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for Charles Redvers Chatten (b1900 d1967) second marriage to Lily Collins nee Marsh b1896.
I have found them in the 1939 register living in Wivenhoe near Colchester with 2 daughters, also Lily's 2 daughters from her first marriage (Lily and Cissie)
I have been unable to find any record of a marriage between Charles and Lily. Any help would be a great help.

Did both previous spouses die?
Charles &/or Lily may not have been free to marry.

I see the daughter born in 1936 is registered as Chatten MMN Marsh

Looks like his year of birth is incorrect in 1939
School register has 28 Nov 1901
Which matches the registration January 1902 MMN SAMPSON

Well I can’t see a marriage.
I can’t see any mention of a divorce either. (In papers).

I see there is a birth registered as Chatten MMN Wood in 1941 who I imagine is not Charles son.

How did Winifred describe herself at that 1944 marriage.

Where was Winifred in 1939?

If I’ve seen the correct marriage entry 1944 Winifred dob on death 17 May 1903 she is in Deben R.D., Suffolk in 1939 but year birth incorrect 1900. Did she have a son Charles W Chatten mmn Wood born 1923?
