No, it's my fault for editing as I go, Jen. ;)

I'll look in the Whitley Seaside Chronicle when I next can.  There might be a clue in there, who knows.  This paper is not online.

I will attach an excerpt re family I have found for James Cecil's funeral.  Nothing I can see published for other brother.
Can anyone spot anything likely for Lily among mourners?
Sorry about quality it is part faded and on the fold of the page.

Possibly a red herring, but worth mentioning, that there is a 23 year old Lily Speed showing on the 1921 Scotland Census, in Cadder district, Lanarkshire.

Just done a search on ScotlandsPeople for a Lily Speed and the only birth that I can find is in 1905, Lily Knox Speed (MMN Henderson) -- AUCHTERDERRAN district.

Could be worth a look at the actual 1921 Census if anyone has access to ScotlandsPeople.

Looks like her. She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Good find, Jennifer  :)

Thanks, Allan. It was all Jennifer's work. I'd been looking for her in shipping lists!

She was shown as a visitor but first entry on the sheet so I had to go to the previous page to find who she was visiting.

She was staying with a Murray family. The wife, Edith, was born in Amble amd a son, John, was born in Wallsend

Hi Gadget -- likewise, I too was looking at passenger lists as well as searching newspapers.
