I have purchased these 2 images from the GRO

BIRTH of
BOSWORTH, SAMUEL       JONES
GRO Reference: 1865  S Quarter in WOLSTANTON  Volume 06B  Page 105

Registered  3 August 1865
Born 20 July 1865 at Brindley Ford Wedgewood to Mark Bosworth, Furnaceman
& Prudence Bosworth formerly Jones.
Prudence Bosworth is the informant, same address

Death of
BOSWORTH, SAMUEL  MARK     3
GRO Reference: 1868  M Quarter in CONGLETON  Volume 08A  Page 196

Registered 14 Mar 1868
Died 10 March 1868 at  Childerplay Biddulph, of Scarlatina Maligna
son of Mark Bosworth an Iron Furnace Man.
Prudence Bosworth present at the death is the informant, same address.

At least you know it was his mother Prudence, so alive in 1868 and as 1871 census for Mark Bosworth says married would assume she’s probably still alive in 1871 possibly in Biddulph area

Have you tried looking with just her initials in case she is in a hospital somewhere as a patient   ???

Could she have gone abroad?

I did wonder if that was her at least you can now rule out Prudence Williams

I was thinking along the lines that she might be in asylum as well which is why Mark didnt re-marry and some of their records just list initials which isnt helpful but surely there would be a death record somewhere and there is nothing for the entire country

I'm wondering if she skipped off somewhere abroad

Thanks everyone for your help.

A older brother George Jones immigrated to Ohio, US 1881

A niece Mary Lewis nee Jones immigrated to Queensland, Australia 1885

I still have 7 more of her siblings to research.

I keep forgetting FreeREG
