Hello,

I’m trying to find information on three brothers who emigrated from Scotland sometime before WWI.

John Watson b. 1885, Charles b. 1886 and William b. 1892. All born in Stranraer Scotland to Charles Diven and Margaret Watson. John did marry in 1911 in Scotland to a woman names Jessie I think but not entirely sure. I don’t know when exactly they’d of came over or if they had families eventually it’s literally all he info I have unfortunately, in 1901 John was an apprentice plasterer and Charles was an apprentice ham curer. Their mother died giving birth to her 15th child in 1907 and their dad died in 1939 in Scotland, all of the other siblings died in Scotland. These there are unaccounted for and was told it’s because they went to Australia

Any help would be amazing

John Diven (28 plasterer) arrived Victoria, Australia in 1912 per “Foreign”

Mrs J Diven (housewife) and 2 sons (John and James) arrived Feb 1913 per “Waimana”
There was another son born in NSW -William in 1918

John Watson Diven death 1955 Burwood NSW
Jessie McWhirter Diven died 1961 Campsie NSW

Charles DIVEN died 1966 Balmain NSW
Electoral roll shows him working as a plasterer.

Wife Annie - did they marry in UK?
Possible marriage in 1913 Stranraer to Annie McWhirter

Daughter - Elizabeth J Diven born 1917 Glebe NSW daughter of Charles and Annie
Daughter - Ailsa C Diven born 1922 Glebe NSW daughter of Charles and Annie

Daughter - Mary Watson Diven born 1914 in Scotland?

William Diven died 1946 Newtown NSW.
He also worked as a plasterer.

Marriage for William DIVEN 1919 Ashfield to Millicent Tumeth

Daughter - Heather Diven born 1921 Glebe NSW daughter of William and Millicent
