John Parker born 25 February 1801 - Wookey Hole

Hi, I am wondering whether anyone can help me with John Parker's marriage.    I have John Parker, born 25 February 1801 and baptised on 24 May 1801 at St Cuthbert's, Wells.   He is the son of George and Elizabeth Parker.    The next record I have of him is the 1841 Census living in Cheddar where he is a paper maker.   With him are his wife Elizabeth, and children George 18, Elizabeth 14, Mary 12, Robert 10, Sarah 6, James 8, Anna (Hannah) 4  and Emma 2.

In 1851 the family are living in Elms Street, Derby -  with children, Elizabeth, Sarah, James, Hannah and Fanny.   John is still paper maker born Wells, Somerset and Elizabeth, his wife born Ireland.   

Other trees on Ancestry have a marriage record for John and Elizabeth in County Antrim Ireland.

28 February 1820 - at the First Presbyterian Church, Donegore, County Antrim, but I have not been able to find the original record of the marriage to confirm to my satisfaction that this is indeed my John Parker and his wife Elizabeth.  Can anyone help me confirm one way or another that this is them.   Many thanks  in advance.   Ellenmaggie

You do not mention the suggested surname for Elizabeth according to the Irish marriage.  Have you located a birth registration for a child born after 1837 to confirm her surname

I think I have found the surname for Elizabeth - Lines.   There are records for Emma b 1839 (mother Lines) and Frances b 1842 (mother also Lines)  both registered in Axbridge.   Thank you - I totally forgot to check the Birth Registrations.    I will start looking for a marriage for a Parker and a Lines.   Rules out the Irish marriage (for now) which had the name Sterling for Elizabeth.   Thank you again.

Where was son George born.  I see that John was a Papermaker when daughter Elizabeth was baptised in 1827

The only reference to George I have found is from the 1841 Census - I am trying to track him further.   As John's father was George, it would be highly likely that he named his first born son after his father methinks.     No idea who Mary Wheeldon is  - possible she is a relative of some description to Elizabeth and something I will try and follow up on. 

I have found a baptismal record for a George Parker whose father is George Parker at Weare, Axbridge, Somerset on 11 May 1824 - the mother however is Mary - could be a first marriage?

IN 1861 John Parker is living in Oldbury with his son James (a baker) and James's wife Elizabeth and his  daughter Eliza.    It says John is married, so I am trying to find whether Elizabeth is with any of the other children in 1861 or whether she died between the censuses and it hasn't been recorded that John was a widower.

So far I have Mary Ann married to John Bonnon, dying in 1869 I believe (tbc) and Robert married to a Maria (I believe I have found him on an 1881 Census in Chipping Wycombe - he is a paper maker and born in Wookey, Somerset, so it has to be him.

James was married to Matilda Ford before Elizabeth Harriet Williams.

Hannah married Evan John Bor??? Warren

Emma married Benjamin Franklin, and then William Hall

Frances (Fanny) married Arthur Lambert

and John married Eliza Salvage - this is the direct line that I led me to John Parker and Elizabeth Lines.

Hope this makes sense.

Just found a marriage record for Elizabeth (daughter born 1827)  - she marriedGeorge Rawlings on 14th November 1852 in Birmingham.
