struggling to read marriage in Malschwitz, now Malšovice, Czechia (German)
« on: Wednesday 26 February 25 14:05 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Just struggling with a couple of words in the brides section, relating to her father's occupation. He is Franz Heinrich doing something  with customs " zoll" for the government . And where was he  -  a place  St..wald 53?.  I don't need anything else translated as I've got that he was from Hopfgarten, Tetschen and his wife was Magdalena Schneider from Maxdorf, a village near Wilsdorf Tetschen.

Franz Heinrich, kaiserlich-königlich Gränzzollaufsehers in Streckenwald 53
The translation is something like Imperial-Royal Border Customs Inspector.

At first I read the place as Struckenwald, because of the sign indicating U. But there is no place like that. So I ignored the sign and went for E instead of U. Streckenwald is an existing place. It's nowadays called Větrov
