Percy Clark
« on: Thursday 07 August 25 15:15 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me on my search for where Percy Charles Clark (born 1889) was living between 1922 and 1930? I believe he may have been living at 11 Cathedral Street, Norwich unfortunately I cannot access the electoral rolls for the time I'm looking for. Also at that's address may have been Miss Lucy Ives, but I doubt she'd be on the register . Any help would be much appreciated

Lucy was born in 1898, so between the ages of 24-32. Particularly interested in 1924 to 1926. I know from her child's birth certificate that Lucy was living at 11 Cathedral Street, Norwich in 1925, and she was probably with Percy Clark at that time (and until her death in 1967).

Thanks for this - 'my' Percy was the one born in Bolton who died in Market Harborough and I'm trying to find out his whereabouts between the 1921 census and the birth of my Aunt in 1929, which are the facts I know are correct. There was another child born in 1925 which is a bit of a mystery as Percy and Lucy weren't married.

She says she is a widow on the 1939 register but possibly for respectability if she had a child or children and wasn't married to Percy.

What occupation did Percy have?  That might help with tracing his whereabouts but whoever holds the electoral registers is the best bet.

Are both children registered as Clark or Ives?

There is a tree on Ancestry which implies this is Percy’s marriage?

Yes, I think Lucy said she was a widow for respectability. She had 4 children, my Mum being one. There has always been some mystery about what happened between 1921 (when she was living in Nottingham and a shorthand typist at Boots hq) and 1929, when my aunt was born. I do know she was living in Cathedral Street, Norwich in 1925/6, so trying to find Percy Clarks whereabouts at that time.
