Hi All,

Does anyone know if the census returns from before 1841 have been put online anywhere or are available on CD?

Also, I think her birth is the following entry (from FreeBMD):

SMITHEYMAN  Mary Jane     Stourbridge  18 498

Hi Lottie,

I think I have found her in 1861 as a servant to a Samuel Holbrook in Dudley but didn't find anything in 1851 or 1871.

Technical Help / Re: Converting Microfiche to PC files

Hi Ken,

Thanks, I read that thread with interest however there was no review of any company that does this professionally. So, it would be useful to find out if anyone has had any experience of getting this sort of work done.

London and Middlesex / Re: Workhouse - LMA?

As an update, the LMA got back to me today and said:

The collection does not include any workhouse admission & discharge registers. It appears that these records have not survived.

Technical Help / Converting Microfiche to PC files
« on: Thursday 20 May 10 16:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Does anyone have any experiences regarding converting a set of microfiche parish records to files that can be viewed on the PC. I have several hundred pages of them so the idea of trying to do it myself doesn't appeal. Any views on how to do this, who do avoid, who is good will be much appreciated.

Hi Ben,

I was actually after some specific wills that I have found mentioned on Seax, they range in date from 1765 to 1855.

There are no images of these wills on the Essex Record Office site. I was hoping that they might be available elsewhere, but guess I will have to plan a trip to the record office to see them.

Hi Liz,

Yes that is the website where I found that they have the wills but what I am wondering is if there is anywhere where they can be read online?
