I have a photograph, about 1938 of family outside the R E JONES petrol station. I would like to know where this was located, if possible. I recall R E JONES and the Mackworth Hotel. Can somebody help please.

CRYSTAL TILNEY's book about Diinas Powys - I can recommend.

I have a book "Dinas Powys RFC 1882 -1982" published by Starling Press ltd Risca Newport 01633 612251 in 1982  There is no Owen Rowlands mentioned but there are an Archie (1913)Frank(1920) George(1921) Jack(1919), C. K. R. &.W. Rowlands listed in the index.

Thanks scrumhalf, i have a jack - but unsure if it would be him, there seems to be sooooo many rowlands (and i thought we were quite unique !!)
cheers for taking the time to look

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Re: WW2 Hospital Langland Bay
« on: Friday 21 December 07 10:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Cell !!

This large building was pointed out to me as a child. A Victorian pile similar to Cyfarthfa Castle. In later years one of my family often frequented it when used as an hotel. On line today I saw a photograph of Langland Bay Manor. Was this formerly Langland Bay Hotel?? If so I have found it. I went to hosptal 1943 for surgery and maybe was sent  to convalesce. It was certainly a canvalescent hospital. It seems the Crawshays who built Cyfarthfa  also built Langland Bay Manor.

Thanks for your interest

During WW2 I spent some time in what I believe was known as Langland Hospital. Any information about this hospital would be appreciated.
