pre 1871 lookup please. COMPLETED

Once again i need some help. In 1871 i have a family of David's living in Llangynwyd. On this census there is a Llewellyn David as the father for the Head of the family Ward.These are the details:

Ward David head married 50 farmer of 15 acres & innkeeper b. coychurch
Elizabeth wife married 50 b. Glam, Bettws
Llewellyn son unm 22 blacksmith b. Llangynwyd
Ann dau unm 18 dairymaid b. Llangynwyd
Elizabeth dau unm 16 scholar b. Llangynwyd
Mary dau unm 12 scholar b. Llangynwyd
David son 9 scholar b. Llangynwyd
Jenkin son 6 scholar b. Llangynwyd
Margaret dau 4. b. Llangynwyd
Llewellyn father widr 75 retired farmer b. Llangynwyd

It is the father Llewellyn i am trying to locate with his wife as i have tried locating him on my 1851 disc and i cant seem to find him. As Ward was born in Coychurch i have looked at the possibility that they were living there but no luck again. I know that Llewellyn's middle name was also Ward if that is of any help.
I would really appreciate some help as i dont know where to look from here. All help Greatfully received!!!

I found on 1861;
Llewelyn David age 66 born Llangynwydd retired farmer
Elizabeth David age 68 Wife born St. Brides Manor
living at Coed Leyshon.

Then, 1851;
Llewelyn David age 57 butcher and farmer born Buckinghamshire, but when i read census it looks like Brecknockshire.
Elizabeth age 59
Mary age 26 housekeeper
John age 22 looks like cartsman, cant make it out clearly
Esther age 20 scholar
living at Tir Fawdry

Thanks. I tried everything on the 1851 disc but as its not complete i could not find him. I keep getting stuck on these later generations and as i am stuck in Scotland its hard for me to find anything thats not on the net!! I really appreciate you helping. My Aunt is old and ill and i have been trying to get things done to do a tree for her before the worst happens. She keeps asking how i am getting on and i keep saying "almost there!". At least now i can get a copy of the Davids to her. Thank you so much again!!!

Completely off subject but relevant...

I have one line that started as 'Leyshon David' on marriage and 1841.  then 1851 he was 'David' children were 'Davies', 1861 and 1871 all were Davies.  Internment record he was David again.  His daughter (my line) remained Davies until married.  It is defo the right family not doubt

The old Welsh patronymic form would be in use. This is when the person is known as son of/daughter of - Leyshon ap David to Leyshon David to Leyshon Davies.  The IGI also has a number of David and Davies in the same families.

Moral of the story your David's may also go as Davies.  Just thought if unable to find you could try looking at the alternative

Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind when searching for the marriages and things i need for other Davids. That could actually explain why i cant find some of them in 1881!! Maybe they saw the futre and thought they would chuckle as we tried to find them!! Cheers!!
