Hello again , Leanne.
I have just realise, slow of me, that my Grandfather, Albert Thomas was the elder brother of your Grandmother Edith Pearl.  I think that makes us 2nd cousins.
I see that Edith Pearl was born in Canterbury.
I grew up and went to school  there within a short distance of where she was born, and now live in Victoria.
John Edmonds was a drover as was Emily's brother James.
As there was a divorce in the family I don' know a great deal about the Edmonds side. Only memories of things said when I was a child.  I am now doing research.  I do have contact with James Litt's GG grandaughter.

Hello Rosie,

Lovely to hear from a cousin!
I've neglected the Edmonds family story for too long and am delighted to receive your message - revives the interest  :)

Edith Pearl Edmonds was my great-grandmother.  She married George Cains in Sydney and their daugher, Eleanor Cains was my grandmother.  My granny passed away before I got interested in family history and I do so wish I could sit down with her now and hear all the facts and fables!

Do you happen to have any photographs of John and Emily Edmonds?

best wishes
Leanne

Hello Leanne,  Sorry I don't have any photos of that side of the family except for one of Albert Thomas taken about1900 with Christena, my Nana.
Nana and my Auntie Rose  aften spoke of Perlie Edmonds and I think I met her as a small child. I seem to remember a son Ross who had some sort of physical disability, perhaps cerabral palsy or similar. They lived , I think, at Manly.     Nana divorced Albert in 1906.   That I why I know so little of things.  We were always told he had died before mother was born, and it is only in very recent years that we learnt the truth.
John Edmonds and James Litt, Emily's elder brother were both Drovers. I guess that would be how they met   I tried to email you today at an address I found  but it was out of date  .Is there another way to contact you? There is much that is to personal to put  put out so publicly. You are obviously more familiar with this form of contact than I.   How can I give you my email address privately.?  Rosie.

My wife is descended from John Thomas Edmonds and his children were born in Sydney. Does anybody know about this son of Emma and John? He is a slight mystery, i don't know where he died but word is he made a heap of money and his son Arthur Edmonds changed his name so his siblings wouldn't pester him for inheritance.
I have never found anything on the Edmonds before this forum so many thanks!
