Tiggi very kindly sent me the pages from the newspaper with the article  'A Peep In A Gypsy Camp'.................it's absolutely rivetting stuff, describing life in a Gypsy camp on a stopover on the banks of the Hudson River, New York.

It's full of excitement and tells of 'Black eyed maidens' and 'Sloe eyed babies'  and even 'Queer English curses'...............I tell you, I'm totally wrapped in it.   I'm going back to read it again.

I'd love for Tiggi to be able to post it on here, but it is a rather large file and I don't know if it could be done.   I'll ask one of the mods and then pass the info to Tiggi.

It's a wonderful article and gives a real insight - allowing for the romantics of it all - into the life of a Gypsy tribe.

Here are 2 interesting sites about gypsies

http://www.mustrad.org.uk/articles/d_booth1.htm

http://www.sacred-texts.com/nev/roma/gft/gft138.htm

if I find anything else of interest will post the last site mentions lots about history of gypsies and also about the story of the nails used to crucify Jesus
