Samuel ROSENTHAL Lookup Vic Please
« on: Wednesday 23 September 09 02:18 BST (UK) »
Hi

Could someone please see if they can find
Samuel Rosenthal
Arrived 1869 "Somersetshire" Victoria
Age 17
B-1852
Am hoping that his father was Judah.
Think he was travelling with his sister Rebecca Lesser.
She married in Moonta to Marcus Mannheim.

Cheers Sue

Bit More,

Not sure, but I think on that voyage that a D Rosenthal had 38 cases and 1 cask  - or perhaps it was cargo for a D Rosenthal already in Victoria  ???

Bit More,

re the cargo ex Somersetshire for a D Rosenthal.  On the 1856 Electoral Roll on Ances### there's a DAVID Rosenthal, a jeweller at 33 (could be 35) Little Collins St, Melbourne Victoria.  Not sure if this is helping but...

I can see no marriage or death for a Samuel ROSENTHAL in South Australia.

There are two marriages for a Samuel ROSENTHAL in Victoria.  Where was Samuel born please?

Cheers

Sorry i am at work and had a couple of customers.

If Samuel is from the same family he would have been born in Poland,Prussia,Prueben.
Thanks for all your help.
The D.Rosenthal might be related as Marcus Mannheim that Rebecca married was a jeweller. But i think they all would have met because of their religion and where they came from.Marcus was born in Poland.
I do know about Marcus and have a photo of his grave, thankyou.

Cheers Sue
