Where is the best place to look

hello Everyone where would be the best place to look for a grave I think she could have been R/C and she died 1893 in Esclusham Below Wrexham her name Mary Turner aged 48yr  thanks Bernadine

Hi Bernadine,

The nearest catholic church would have been St. Mary's in Wrexham but I don't know if there were any burials there  :-\

Hi
The local studies/archives at the A.N. Palmer Centre in Wrexham has the St Mary's registers. This includes 1856-1896 (deaths).  :)

She may also have been buried in one of the municiple cemeteries in the area.

Just to give an idea of the area.
The X is the site of Hafod Colliery spoil bank, you can see a Hafod road just to the right.

Perhaps looking for childrens baptisms will help to decide if  they were RC.

Holy Trinity, Esclusham / Rhostyllen is the closest and would have been built then.

Mary is buried here,
Entry in the Parish Registers dated 26 April 1893.
Mary Turner, Hafod Cottage, aged 48.
Ceremony conducted by Thomas O` Connor.
It doesn`t say if Thomas O `Connor was a priest or any other information.

Hello  you have made me so happy xxx thank you I have felt so sorry for her since Ive learnt all about her she had a hard life and Lew running out on her and young Children it broke my heart, there is an old saying what goes around comes around it certainly does Lew fell drunk from a train (he was a passanger) on his way back from Wrexham must of been to see the bairns he left to be brought up by Marys niece he was killed instantly!! I go to Liverpool twice a year next visit will be to pay my respects to Mary and its all down to you THANK YOUxxxx bernadine
