My, that was quick! I am working in Germany, but due to leave next week as my contract ends. So not particularly busy!
I will have to wait until I get home to see if I can sort out dates. Have a chat with my older brother. Unfortunately when my Grandpa Gray my Uncle Archie kept most of the family records. He died a few years ago so my Aunt probably still has them somewhere.
I am not too sure about My Uncle Robert, pretty sure McIntyre was the surname, but will check. I believe he used to own a shop in Countess Street, Saltcoats or may have worked there. Sorry if a bit vague, but all a long time ago now. I will need to chat with my brother or give my cousin Billy (William Gray) a ring.

Tom,

now I'm having further thoughts. We definitely need lots of date and exact names data. Gather it while you can.

It sounds like your Aunt is possibly my grandmother's niece or my mother's cousin. G'm was Catherine Gray 1894-1966 one of the 13 McIntyre children from the Holy Isle.

I also know one of the Grays was into "Master Building". lots of stories about who built the  the lighthouse on Holy Isle etc.

Hi there,

My Aunt is Margaret, married my Uncle Archibald Gray. I might not be able to sort out dates until I get back to the UK. But will give my brother a call later. The family moved to the south of England some years ago, otherwise would have gone to Ardrossan Cemetery and had a look at the headstones. This is quite fascinating I have to say. Like many families we never recorded things of older generations, but having the known link to Arran and the Holy Isle has given good clues.

Tom

Hi There,

I just realised that my Aunt Margaret would not be related to you as she married my Uncle Archie Gray, so he is the Gray link, not her. The Gray / McIntyre link would be from my grandparents and Great Uncle and Aunt.

Hi, hope all is well with your research.

A Jack member has linking data to the Jack tree descending from Janet Taylor McIntyre.

These descendants are in Australia

Hear sometime

Hi,

Yes all fine thank you. I am waiting for my older brother to dig out some information for me. I really ought to look at some sort of tree to see how things fit in. Grace has really been helpful and yes it appears all the links are there, just a case of joining together.

I actually worked in Sydney some years ago, where are you living?

Cheers

Tom

Forestville North Shore

Grace is indeed very helpful.

The Jack connection referred to earlier shows 4 in the two family trees all with correct names and dates but mother Janet Taylor McIntyre is shown as a Macgregor. It could be typo.

Need more Jack family info
