Many thanks schooner I have tried to find the licences of many of my pubs/inns etc they have some in Exeter among the quarter sessions books not indexed, I didn't find any in Barnstaple. Good thinking to try the museum though I remember visiting it many years ago a great little local museum. It has been suggested that the Kings Head became the Kingsley and that there were probably 2 king's Heads now I think this is dubious have you any thoughts on it? My contact says that John(twin) kept the Beaver but as you can see from the above I have him at the Mariner's hence the original question
