This is really helpful. I can now go back in the census records and forward. I think Fred went to Canada. He either married in Ireland, or in England.

I was referring to this, going on the 1911 index, and working it a bit, William was still in the UK

Fred's son, William, married Hannah Rebecca Justin. I think William was a soldier in  the 1stWW and in the 2nd WW, when living in Canada. I cannot find William in Ireland's 1911 census and I know I cannot ask anyone to look at the 1911 English census.

OK again, did William & Hannah have a child William b c 1920?

They had a child called William J.C.Ashworth, about 1920. Hannah Rebecca Justin was born in Ireland.

Hi would like to know your thoughts re replies before this?

Was Hannah in 1925 aged c 29 if so their was a departure 26th March 1925 Liverpool to St John NB  occ Housewife with son William aged 5 on SS Montclare  address Killam, Baldrine, Isle of Man?

Yes, you are spot on. I can follow the trail to Canada. Just wanted to be 100% sure about the Ashworth's. If I know where William and Hannah married I can get a certificate so as to be 100 % sure that William's father was Fred from Lancashire. If the marriage is in Ireland I will get a copy from GRO.

William Hannah and son are in Canada for the 1921 census,
Hannah and baby arrived in 1920, William states 1919 for his arrival
