I can't seem to locate my Nisbit family from the Shetlands on any census are they in a different place than FindMyPast.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Magnus Nisbit b: 1840, I know he married a Marjory Anderson but don't have a date at the moment.

Thank you for replying, I have tried FindMyPast but didn't  get anything up.

A person with those details is on FindMyPast in Fetlar in 1841 and in North Yell in 1851.I searched on Magnus Nisbet, with variations, b. 1840 +/-2 ,Shetland.

I've also looked on Scotlands People and he's also on there.  Another one in Unst.

Sorry Gadget, 1840 Magnus married Christina Dalzeil,  my mistake, I will take another look at FindMyPast for 1841 and 1851.

The 1840 Magnus's parents were Magnus and Marjory. He was much too young to marry in 41 and 51  ;D  I didn't see him later with a wife.

Magnus Nisbet married Christina Dalzell in Fetlar in 1862.

I also can't find him again in the census, but Christina is still on North Yell in 1871 with four children: Jessie Blanche Nisbet b. 1863; Andrina Ursula Nisbet, b. 1865; Wilhelmina Nisbet, b. 1867 and Elizabeth Nisbet, b. 1869.
