Can any Dursleyians help me with another puzzle please?. Thomas James Elliott, 23, bachelor, machinist, abode Bradford Yorkshire, married Harriett Elizabeth Workman, 21, spinster, abode Cam, at Cam St George Gloucestershire on 18 May 1875. Thomas James Elliott's father is listed as John Elliott, a tanner. However, the only Thomas James Elliott's baptism ca. 1852 that I can find is the one with parents, Thomas (on all his children's baptisms and censuses listed as a labourer) and Elizabeth Elliott, at Dursley on 25 July 1852.
On the 1881 census for North Bierley, Yorkshire: Thomas Elliott, age 28, born Dursley, and Harriett E, age 26, are listed with their children Isabella F, Lily E and Thomas W. Elliott.
On the 1871 census Thomas was living with his parents Thomas and Elizabeth, and sister his Emily, at Fort Fields, Dursley, aged 19, a machinist. He is also with his parents in 1861.
Any suggestions about John Elliott, tanner, being Thomas's father? Thank you.
