Thanks for the translations so far. Having survived a life threatening experience, parachuting into the middle of a Nazi home guard operation and having to shoot ones way out and then escape on foot into Switzerland, I had expected this report to be about the operation, not a list of handy hints on what to do next time! Were it me my comment would be a little more harsh - but I am not that brave to do what he did. I think it says something about this young man that he can seem to be so phlegmatic. I  find it surprising that after some 5 years at clandestine operations simple suggestions can still be made to improve the survivability of agents in German occupied territory. Admittedly so far all operations had been in occupied nations so there were vital supporters at hand. This was possibly the first jump into Germany itself, or one of the earlier ones. I dont think many more if any occurred after this one. Operation Clixby in which Werner was supposed to take part was cancelled as the war ended.
