So could be a different family, its getting abit muddled.  The Agnes Smith I found on ancestry was Agnes Smith reg date 1905
Quarter April-June
Auckland Durham
v 10a
p277
that's wrong as mother's surname is Barrows on the GRO

Jarrow is in the registration district of South Shields, not Auckland.

Robert Noble died 20 March 1896 intestate, probate to daughter Jane Weir Noble

Janet his wife must have died prior to 1901 as well since the children are all with their grand father in 1901

By 1911 it looks like William Smith had returned to Scotland listed as married with no wife -  living at Stobhill, Newbattle with sons Charles 14, William 12 both born Scotland Jane 11 and Mary 9 both born England

Just returned from the village to find some very interesting information.  Apart from her name I have deleted all details and starting from scratch

It is the Horler family I am researching but need to have the correct wife hence Mary Noble and I usually take a note of the in-laws as well.

So Mary Noble was born in 1877 Rosewell Scotland.  She may of been married before she married William Holder (if they did marry) to a Mr Smith

Also Agnes was born in 1904

Am I correct so far?

William Nicholas Roper Horler's details are correct, amondo, as yet I have not found his death on the famous trees he died in Brazil

Thanks again

I have just looked at the 1895 marriage To William Smith and Mary's parents are NOT Robert & Janet.

Going by the 1891 census re Robert & Janet then their daughter is Mary Dickson Noble born 10.3.1882 Lasswade.

Given a brother Peter Noble age 19 was living with William and Mary in 1901 I wondered whether this family in 1891 included the right Mary and brother Peter
