This is exciting!  Thank you!  Now to determine if she was "my" Winifred.  I found her at 1 Bellevue Avenue, Greenwich, in the 1943 Electoral Roll for Lane Cove. He was Postmaster.  I was unable to identify a method for searching by address to see who was at Winifred's Carlotta Street address in 1943 (another point in favor of confirmation).
