It must be. Yes, it is odd why she she switches from McGrath to West?
Great find. Having them speak their own words always brings them to life, doesn't it.
A guess at some of it (you're right, the text is terrible)
WOMAN PENSIONER'S FATAL ACCIDENT. CORONER AND LEFT HAND DRIVES. The distressing fatality at Sloane-avenue, Chelsea, last Friday (briefly reported in our last week's issue) was investigated by the (West) London coroner Mr. H. R. Oswald at the Guardians' offices King's-road, on Tuesday morning. The deceased, (Emily) Yates, a widow, aged 76 years, of 75 Arthur-street, (Chelsea?), was knocked down and killed instantly by a Clayton steam (wagon) at ?? Catherine West, a widow, (identified) the body, but told the coroner that she was not related to the deceased. Deceased had lodged with witness at 75 Arthur-street, said witness had known her for 10 years. The Coroner: She didn't do any work? Witness: Yes. On Wednesday week..??...work in a laundry. Continuing, witness said deceased was a ladies' shoe maker by trade. Deceased had wonderful health, but was very deaf. Witness saw her alive about 10(?).30 on Friday morning, when she went out to draw her old age pension. Afterwards a little girl(?) came to her house, and told her that....had been run over... What time was that?
