The 1921 electoral register has, at 75 Arthur Street
Katherine McGrath
Catherine West
and, sandwiched between them, Mary Turner and Thomas Turner (who are on schedule 91 in the census)

After 1921 Catherine West remains at 75 Arthur Street on the electoral registers for the rest of the decade. Is this Caroline? :-\
But no McGrath there.

The one I am looking at (index only) is:
Chelsea
Kate West b 1858, Ireland.
*Caroline, Con and three others.

Further searching has with her
Caroline West b 1872, Chelsea

And then others but no West or McGrath.

Is that the one you quote, Jon?

Added - sorry I see you are showing electoral registers

Big apology.
I just came in and only read the messages on the page - didn’t go back!

So it could be the wrong death in Hackney?
And the wrong burial? :-[

In 1921 indexes, this seems to be her.
Kate West b 1858, Ireland
Living with Caroline West b 1872 Chelsea plus others.

From playing around with the free index and help with address from the electoral register
75 Arthur Street, Chelsea
Schedule 90
Kate West Head born 1858, Ireland
Caroline West Daughter 1872 Chelsea London
Con Margaret Son 1897 London ???
Henry Wehr Boarder 1875 (no birth place in free index)
D McGrowth Boarder 1895 Ireland
Rose Healey Boarder 1871 Bow, London

Guessing at the order. What a mess!

I wondered if ‘D McGrowth’ was a McGrath but they are born Ireland so perhaps no immediate relative. Con Margaret could also be a McGrath?
I looked earlier for Henry Wehr - maybe not entitled to vote?

Hi heywood
Both Con Margaret born 1897 (son?) and D McGrowth born 1895 come up as married in 1921.
If they have got that right (and neither of us can see it) perhaps it could be Anthony and his wife. If he did indeed marry in 1918. But he's not on the electoral there, I don't think.

1924
Anthony McGrath - living in Orford Street. Marie Louise (married 1918) is entered as Sparks.

1928
Anthony and Marie Louise McGrath are in Orford Street, Chelsea.
They are in Fulham later.

I don't think Marie Louise Sparks was Irish. So maybe not D McGrowth!
But really Bunnygirl should try and get hold of that 1921 census (image, not transcript!)

Yes, the next move  :)
It seems as though the writing may be difficult to read from that transcription.
