Husband died 1865 - not 1863

What you haven't mentioned is that all the events above took place in London

Yes sorry my mistake def 1865 Edwin's death.
What do you mean the events ?  Do you mean census's?

Have you ruled out the 1884 death St Georges Hanover sq - Emma Eliza Badderley aged 44

Yes that was the first one as I thought it was Emma Hiett at first until I linked the husbands and wife's together.
I have even looked at the children and where they ended up in case Emma was staying with anyone.  Bertha Alice ended up in New York but did not take her mother with her.  I am thinking she must have passed away because I cannot find her on any census's

In 1891 74/142
George B Badderly and family are at 108 Alderney Street, Pimlico. That is the residence of Emma Elizabeth on her death in 1884.
Could she be a sister to Edwin?
She is his sister in law

Yes, I worked that out by finding the 1881 census as explained.

No - not censu180s.  The marriage, 2 births & 2 deaths (husband & son) were all in London

Oh right yes all in London sorry there was so much to remember.
I have also found another Emma Badderly who died in 1903 but she was born in 1816 so def not her either.  I also wondered if she died in childbirth but again nothing.

I know I have been working on it for days and have found her daughter Bertha Alice ran away to America with her husband and they changed their names to Phillips and they took Alice Rebecca Badderly with them, I have managed to find out all of this but still no Emma Hiett/Badderly.  Perhaps she is in the grave!!
