If this is the right young woman, she would have been only 15 when having the "attributed" Elizabeth in 1902.

Hi Sue she was 24 in 1904 when she had Alexander.  So about 21/22 when Elizabeth was born I would say. But really who knows what her "actual" age is. Thanks Dianna

Just curious why you thought Madeline was 15 when she had Elizabeth!  Did I miss something. Dianna

On the birth certificate with Madeline as mother it says that there was 'previous issue' Elizabeth 2 years before the 1904 birth - which is why, if it were the Madeline Kearns/Kerans b 1887, we've just been looking at who may or may not be the mother of the 1904 baby.

Confusion!

In relation to the speculation that Madeline KERAN is a "contender"

She was born  (see previous)
KERANS Madeline
Parents MICHAEL & ANNIE
12378/1887
At WATERLOO

So therefore, if she is to be considered, she would have been 15 when she had the proported Elizabeth.

I personally do not thihnk she is a likely identity.
I still lean towards the sister Annie Matilda.

Hmm -could be either.  Quite possible for a 15 year old to have a child but there seems no record of the birth/death of the child Elizabeth she puts on the 1904 birth certificate.

I'm assuming you've seen the records of Hubert's admission and death at the Liverpool Asylum for the Infirm and Destitute:
CHARLES, Hubert Gavin, 30, religion RC, weaver,
Married to Ida Kairns (sic), born Parramatta, last abode Parramatta,
Children: Alexander 4, Hubert 2, both with mother
Date of admission: 22/09/05 Died: 9.45 pm  18/11/1905
Relatives: Wife, Albert St Parramatta; Mother and brother George Church St, Parramatta
Remarks: Father, Alex'r   - under this is something I can't make out except for the word Parramatta and what looks like "Gaol"
Mother: Elizabeth Gavin

I see some other mentions on Ancestry.  Happy to transcribe but you probably have them.
Edit to add OP added this I think what is say's under the Dad's name Alexander most probably say's "Stonemason, overseer of works on Parramatta Gaol".

HAIGH ANNIE M 5314/1914 CHARLES H ANNIE M GRANVILLE (Annie m died 1915)

I'm following up on a possible re marriage for as her as  COLLINS

Bingo . . .  . COLLINS ANN MATILDA 39357/1967 RICHARD MARY ANN BURWOOD. Correct for the sister of Ada Victoria.

When I can see the death notice in the paper, will see who is mentioned.  All good.  Think Sis can be ruled out now

Hi judb, many thanks I think what is say's under the Dad's name Alexander most probably say's "Stonemason, overseer of works on Parramatta Gaol".  I don't know if I ever printed out that record.

Maybe somewhere in the "files".  Many thanks
