LINTON
« on: Monday 29 January 24 17:41 GMT (UK) »
I have a brick wall situation.
Alfred William LINTON born ABT 1870 place unknown
Married Ada Ellen Killick, 1907 Sheppey, Kent
Father of Alfred is "deceased" also named Alfred.
I have the marriage certificate.
I cannot find a birth record for Alfred William
Ada Ellen re married in 1914/15 to William Cornhill.
So I'm looking for a divorce or death record for Alfred William Linton - "Painter RN" IN 1907

Ada remarried as Killick - not Linton - March qtr 1914.  .  Do you have that cert showing her marital status?

If she was a widow & Alfred was in the RN - he may have died at sea

Son William Alfred was b 1908

There is a navy record for an Alfred Linton born25th June 1868 Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
Could be another man entirely though.

Wow thanks for the Navy info. The story is that the sons, stepfather didn't want him and he was put into a children's home. He must have still had contact with his mum. He was never adopted but age 15 was sent to Canada.
