John Risbridger was a carpenter and he also had a farm called Hedges (now known as Slab Castle) where he lived with his wife Mary  (Mott) and their family, and subsequently, Mary Penfold, nee Gates, and her family by him.  With his second wife? (don’t think they were ever married) they lived at Sidlow Mill which is in the Domesday book and is the oldest mill on the Mole river.    John died in 1772.

William Newman born 1533c married Joan Burges (1529) 12 November 1553 and they had 2 children: Wyllyam Newman 22 July 1554-7 November 1584 (married Johan Sowlman, 23 April 1572), Mary Newman 1560. 
Joan Newman (Burges) WIFE OF WILLIAM died 21 July 1624
William Newman death

Their marriage, children's births and Joan's death all registered at St Denys, Rotherfield, Sussex. 

Any help much appreciated.
