I think the woman is in her 60s. It seems more likely to be the lady born 1833 and died 1901.
It is a lovely photo.

It is possible that John was not truthful about being 21 (and therefore legal) when married. So real birth year may be a little different.

There is a marriage in Brighton in October 1871 for a James Taylor (age 41) and a Louisa Taylor (age 34)
