Hi Jan

Yes thank you, I think that is him, his name was Richard Chapman Osbourne...I am not sure if these surnames used as middle names help or just confuse me.

Richard C Osbourne, married Emily Maxey Smith  so I wonder if Elizabeth Smith  'boarder' is also a relation

I wondered that. Was Emily Maxey Smith, Thomas's daughter, or was she born before her mother married Thomas otherwise wouldn't she be called Ellen Maxey? I wonder if Elizabeth Smith is Ellen's mother?

Just having a look I have Elizabeth Maxey married 1855 Louth to Robert Smith ( who would be Elizabeth Smith boarder) and two children Emily Maxey Smith and  John Maxey Smith ( although my guess is that there are more to find) but there are 10 years between these two children  John b 1857 and Emily b 1867.......so it just doesn't feel right if you know what I mean............

Like I said all these surnames as middle name completely confuse me

I am really not sure how Thomas and Ellen Maxey fit in...Elizabeths maiden name is Maxey and I think the enumerator wrote grandson for Maxey Osbourne under Elizabeth ( rather than relationship to Head)......sorry I am trying to think this through as I am writing...so it may not make sense

And even more puzzling

RG10; Piece: 3403; Folio: 5; Page: 6  Louth

Elizabeth Smith  60  Parish relief and laundress
Thomas Maxey  24  Nephew   joiner
Emily Smith  5 grand daughter

So were Thomas and Ellen cousins?
