Hi
Just got back from Tongwynlias spoke to the pastor of the church, sadly they have no marriage records at all, lost in time!. I also spoke to a member of the church and  he did not  know the Minister mentioned on the  marriage certificate. Having had a conversation about the fact they lived in Porth/Trhaford and why would they travel to Tongwynlais  to marry  just does not make sense!. Is it the actual  marriage certificate you have? Sorry to question you. Have we looked for the misister on the 1911 census?
Have sent you a personal message
cheers cardiff :)

Hi cardiff
Yes it is the actual marriage cert I believe, looks like it.

Henry Jones was the Minister
John W Charles was the Registra

It states 1913 Marriage solemnized in Ainon Baptist Chapel, Tongwynlais in the District of Pontypridd, in the County
of Glamorgan.
It also has the red One Penny stamp attached and signature of John W Charles across it.

Is it a long distance from where they lived to Tongwynlais???

will read the PM now, thanks

HI
Its  a good way from Porth to Tongwynlais about 10 miles thats not that far I know but, in 1913 it was  a big thing to travel from the Rhondda to Cardiff, although they could travel by bus and there was also the train, so maybe not a big deal! But I just cannot get it out of my mind that they could have married at any baptist church, believe me the Rhondda and Pontypridd was full of them!
cheers cardiff :)
