I have no idea when and where Charles and Christina were married, this is all second hand information, but i have a feeling that Charles parents maybe William Jacobs 1781Stoke Damerel Devon England and he married Johanna O'Neil.

There is a baptism of a William Jacobs at Stoke Damerel on 02 Mar 1781 but there is also a burial on 12th March 1781 with no information given as to age.  There is another baptism for a William Jacobs in 1783 with the same parents and another burial in 1785.

Where does the information he was born in S.D. come from

A Charles JACOBS aged 23 was sentenced to 7 years transportation in 1844. He was described as being from Devonshire and a lace maker. He was sent to Hobart Town 8 January 1848. He was 5ft 3 3/4inches tall, much pock-marked with blue marks around each (illegible).

Good morning,
Needless to say i am getting very frustrated. I don't seem to know where  to go to get information on Charles Jacobs and his family, although all of you have given such wonderful information, i can't seem to find it or you have to pay to get information which is not an option for me. Can any one tell me sites that do not charge to get information please, i may have to wait till ancestry put out another free look up day as i am no longer a member. bit confused with all the different dates, many thanks once again for all your time.

Tiverton Parish Registers are on FindMyPast but obviously with a charge.

Not sure how far from your local 'library' you are but I believe that some in Australia do have free access to Ancestry, not sure about F M P.

I did wonder  ;D

Where did you get the information that William bn c1780 was born Stoke Damerel.  It is nearly 70 miles from Tiverton and I have obviously eliminated that birth anyway.
