I have checked the victorian historical BDM and have found nothing to help me.
If anyone could help i would appretiate it

Hi

A lot of my ancestors came from the North Riding and I wondered if there was anyone out there who plans on going to the records office in Northallerton in the near future who could check out a couple of parish records for me.

Worcestershire / Completed: Dimmock - Yardley
« on: Thursday 12 April 07 03:39 BST (UK)  »
Here's what I know:
My ancestor William Dimmock was born circa 1831 in Dudley Wood and died before 1867 in Dudley. He married Betsy [Betty] Fudge at Saint Thomas, Dudley on 24 Jul 1848.
I've found him in the 1851 & 1861 census and think it's him in the 1841 [shown born in 1834].
I know his parents were William Dimmock [born 1810 in Dudley] and Diane Yardley who married on 21 Dec 1828 at Kingswinford, Stafford. I have no idea about Diane's heritage and neither she or her husband seem to appear in the 1841 census. Any ideas?

Here's what I know:

The following members of the Wade family were born/christened in Hipswell - John [1790]; William [1797]; James [1801]; Thomas [1806]; and Jane [1809].

The records I've found shows only their mother [Ann Wade].

What I'd like to know before I meander further down the track is should I assume Ann was a rather promiscuous lady or is there another way I can find out if she was married and the kids are not illegitimate?

Australia Lookups completed / South Australia: The Shard family. Completed.
« on: Sunday 08 April 07 12:48 BST (UK)  »
Here's what I know:
Roger Shard: born 1842 in Ryton on Dunsmore Warwickshire; married Harriet Elizabeth White [born 1843 in Birmingham Warwickshire] in 1863 at Aston Warwickshire; emigrated sometime between 1863-1871; and was a cabinetmaker in Adelaide.
Roger and Harriet had 3 children: Ada Caroline Shard born 1871 in Adelaide; Frank George Shard born 1880 in Adelaide; and my great grandfather Albert Charles Shard born 1884 in Adelaide - died 1943.
Albert Charles Shard married Ellen May Sinclair [born 28 Mar 1885 in York South Australia] on 14 Oct 1908 at Maylands South Australia. They had 2 children: my grandfather Albert Roger Shard [born 5/8/1909 Adelaide; died 11/3/1999 Pascoe Vale Victoria]; and Mabel Shard born in Adelaide.
Any help filling the gaps in my knowledge would be appreciated.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Completed Requests / The Smith Family In Pudsey-completed
« on: Sunday 08 April 07 12:08 BST (UK)  »
All the books tell you to ask your older relatives when starting your family tree - they're a great resource - unfortunately in my case they weren't. I managed to the marriage certificate of dad's parents [Christopher Smith and Hilda Tait] so I've been able to trace the family pre-1900 but the 20th century remains a mystery.
Dad [with a little prompting from mum] was able to give me the names of his siblings in roughly chronological order but that's about it.
Here's what I know:
Christopher Smith born 1894 Leven Bridge Yorkshire; married 9/4/1919; died sometime in the late 1940s in Pudsey.
Hilda Smith [nee Tait] born 1900 Thornaby Durham; died in childbirth sometime in the 1930s in Pudsey.
Children [all born in Pudsey] in order.
Douglas died sometime in the 1930s following complications after a pitchfork went through him.
Clifford [aka Toby]
Lawrence married Lucy ?
Lily married James Haynes
Bessie married John Baraniak
Gordon married Shirley Thornton
Norma married John Sczupak
Barbara married Laurie Carlisle
Kathleen - died young
Joyce -  died young

Any help with any of these would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Doug

Surrey / Ebenezer LANGDON - Elizabeth THOMAS
« on: Sunday 08 April 07 11:29 BST (UK)  »
Here's what I know EBENEZER LANGDON married ELIZABETH THOMAS in 1846 at St George Southwark Surrey. He migrated to South Australia in 1847 on board the "Duchess Of Northumberland". He died at Victoria Creek South Australia in 1859 aged approximately 45 which puts his date of birth around 1815.
What I don't know is where he was in 1841. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Doug
