The books reading age was between 3 & 6 years so revised SP births search 1920-1923 gives 7 plain David MacDonald’s & 25 others

How are you going to determine which is the right one?

Whereabouts in Scotland did David live?  Any idea of his age?

Have a look on SP & there are 6 David MacDonald births between 1918-1920 & that doesn’t include all those with middle names

Needle in a haystack I think & I tend to agree with your reply having done 2 house clearances for deceased relatives in recent years.

1901 census.  Robert must have died between 1901 & 1911

www.rootschat.com/links/01t81/

Edgar Alfred was b 3.11.1899

An Emma Mary Ann Giles was born March qtr 1900 Poplar (London) mmn Harman but she married in England & can be followed via censuses etc so can be discounted

Will post in a few minutes but he must have returned to England at some time between 1950 - 1957 as there is another outgoing record for him & another possible one in 1946

He was b 29.12.1923 according to findagrave & one passenger list

If Edgar was only born 1924 & single when he arrived in Australia in 1950 - any children are likely to still be alive

Was Walker her married name?

If you are researching her Scottish ancestry you would need to know her maiden name

Ages from 16yrs upwards were only rounded down in 1841 - not up.  The 1841 ages have not been rounded down.  If they had both she & George would be shown as 20

It may be that George never really knew her real age hence when he reported her death.  My g/grandfather died in 1905 & his daughter reported him as 65yrs old - he was 74.  His real age appears on his burial record
