Gloucestershire / Re: MILLINER family
« on: Monday 11 August 08 20:20 BST (UK)  »
I too have a William Milliner born 11/3/1810.  Died 1897.
Parents JACOB Milliner born 1775 and Mary Tyler born 26 May 1776. Married 13/10/1801
Grandparents ISSAC Miliner born 1739 and Mary Brazer born about 1743 married 24/11/1764.
Names all match but you seem to be a generation out.  Would love to see the birth certificate and will email you next.
It would seem highly unlikely that someone married in 1764 would have a child in 1810 - 46 years later?
I am descended from William's  (1810 one!) eldest brother Issac born 1802.  What's your connection?  I really do wish they hadn't kept using the same names over and over again!!  It really doesn't help!
I would love to hear how you get on at the weekend and look forward to seeing a copy of the birth certifcate if possible.

Kind regards,

Nicola

Hi Dave

Not sure where or even if your Milliner family tree fits into mine.  Can you tell me when William was born, or even better who is parents were.  I have several William Milliners and a few James' but not sure if any are the same as yours!
Regards,

Nicola

RE: Anne Wright - not sure about mother this is only infro we have been given by someone else, so you are probably right.  Will have a look at census' tomorrow.

Hi!

In case you didn't realise Annie Milliner or Milner as it sometimes says was my g.g. grandmother.  Albert Henry Milliner, born 18.2.1884 was one of her sons.  One of her other children was William Robert my g. grandfather.  Your Aunt Annie is probably Annie and Alberts oldest daughter born 1867 in Avening.

I have the following infro' on Annie Wright/Gardner sent by someone else!  We have her as Annie Wright b.1840 (also known as Mary Ann Wright)  father Charles William Wright b.1800 Painswick - her fathers name is the name on her wedding certificate as a witness  We have 2 possible names for her mother Elizabeth Symonds b 1819 Painswick and Mary Walker b1825 St. Michaels Bristol.  If you do send for the certificate , please do let me know what it says

Dorothy is certainly a mystery!  Will keep in touch if I find anything!

Regards
Nicola

Hi

I believe that Annie and Enoch were married on 13 Aug 1857 in Thornbury, but you can probably confirm this when you get your certificates.  Please let me know!

I have sort of given  up on Genes Reunited, but have lots more infro - had a bit of a good run lately! so let me know if you have any gaps and I will look to see if I know anything!

Will think about the rest of the things you have written tomorrow and get back to you!

Hi Chris

Do you have Dorothy's marriage certificate?  Does it have an age on it?  Who witnessed the wedding - what relation to her?  Florence died 21 Jan 1910 if you didn't already know this.

sorry lots of questions!  just trying to work things out!

Regards
Nicola

Hi Chris

Good to see your name again!  I was surprised to find out that the mysterious  Dorothy was married from the Melsomes pub.  Have you found out anymore about her recently?  Do you know what the connection is between Dorothy and the Melsomes or anything else about the family or the pub?  I haven't very much on the Melsomes but am happy to share the little I know if its any help!

Kind Regards

Hi Bugsy

Sorry for the delay in saying thanks - I have been away!  What you suggest seems like a good possiility, but not what I was expecting - ie the bride living in Barton St.
Gives me something to think about!
Thanks again,

Nicola
