A total Brickwall
« on: Monday 31 July 23 08:24 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for the parents of the couple, Georg(e) Engels & Kartherina nee David. According to many documents from their immigration and naturalization, Georg was born in Patras in Greece around June 12th of 1884/1885 while Kartherina was born somewhere in Turkey around October 20th, 1890. I do have Kartherina burthplace also as the Sryian Republic; Family Trees list her middle name as Leo and other times, Mary so I'm not really sure about her really. Georg died on October 28th, 1977 and Kartherina died on August 28th, 1983 both in Los Angeles, US.

If anyone can help solve both their parents and their birth certificates, that would help.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:

Also, Georg’s Birthplace is also listed as April 3rd, 1884

Hello
I've not got much and it's on a Ancestry family tree so bear with me.

The tree has George's father as
Unk Angelopoulos born 1865

Unk's  sister Angelina Angelopoulos Lazouras 1865-1963 Buried Pawtucket, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States of America  Grave on Find a grave website.
Her Husband MR Lazouras born 1865 and children Christos born July 4th 1887 Patras- 2nd Sep 1971 Rhode Island ,Peter John 19th April 1890 Gourzoumisa -9th June 1972 Sacromento and George John born 30 June 1897 Patras -12 Nov 1964
Unk's brother Konstantinos   Angelopoulos born 1870

The grandfather is UNk Unk Angelopoulos b c 1840

I know it's not a lot and I haven't checked anything on the Greek side of things but it might provide some clues.

The earliest I can see them is 1915 on the Rhode Island census
Christy L 28
Angelina 24 wife
Peter 24 brother
George 18 brother
Gennie 1 daughter

Sorry that's all I have

Isn't (or couldn't it be)  that Unk is not a name but means "unknown".

Sorry if this is obvious to everyone, but it may save  a trip down a blind alley!!

Thanks a lot for some details. George Engels immigrated on the ship Cambroman around October 18th, 1903 in Boston, Massachusetts, US.

If someone is willing to search in the passenger lists, here are they:

I searched them numerous times to find him no where inside them, so I need a new pair of Eyes. Possibly, George’s surname and for name could be Georgios Ángelos/Angelopoulos

Sorry for demanding if so.
