Yes I wondered about this daughter born in 1840, which was 7 years after the marriage.
But then that notice in the newspaper regarding Anthony Silvester's missing wife was shown to be down in the Hume.    Such a mystery this family.

Could this child have died, as she never shows up with Elizabeth and John Batson during their marriage.  Jan

Possibly he refers to Hume Creek which is near Lerida, about halfway between Gunning and  Collector - same area as the other records.   :-\

Oh sorry, didn't realize that, immediately thought of the Hume area, as I saw something of a family member being at Howlong.

As she was so young she may have been adopted, name changed, brought up by others etc  And she may have little or no knowledge about her birth mother.

There is this marriage in the same sort of area but it's a VERY tenuous link

1861 #1829registered at GOULBURN
George MORGAN, Mary Ann SYLVESTER

None of which helps us much in finding Elizabeth's father.  You really need to follow up on getting one of the marriage certificates - which may not have that information anyway.

There is a mention on Ancestry of this George MORGAN and his spouse Mary Ann SYLVESTER, giving Mary Ann's birthdate as October 1840, but there's no actual reference, no parents listed for Mary Ann so still no actual link to your Elizabeth.

It would be great if we could get some information on Henry Hughes and Elizabeth Hughes of Sutton Forest, were they Farmers where maybe Elizabeth Hill could have been working at this particular time.   Wonder if anyone would be able to assist me in this regard or point me in the right direction to research on the Hughes family.

Also would be great in regard to Elizabeth's Father, Thomas Hill of Windsor.
