As they both show themselves as unmarried - for whatever reason - they didn't marry.  My friends grandparents had children from 1890 but didn't marry until 1915 because of religious differences

1911 shows John was b 1875 Liverpool, his brother Charles 1872   Birkenhead & his mother 1847 Liverpool

Where did you get Rowland from as her maiden name?

Per 1851 both born Lanbadarn-Fawr

6 children shown on the 1851 entry.  Youngest is Sophia aged 1.  However - mothers maiden name on GRO online does not show a maiden name of Rowland
