Bought my new TV after the other one packed up, delivered today. Was congratulating myself on fixing the stand to it, setting it all up and connecting to WiFi, after which the TV performed two software updates. But now the sound is out of synch.  :-[  Unplugging it doesn't work.

Can anyone help please? It's a Panasonic TV, I don't have anything else attached to it.
(Have tried Google, the suggestions don't apply to my TV)

** The problem seems to have sorted itself out since I posted!  ;D

Technical Help / Is my television broken?
« on: Wednesday 08 May 24 17:34 BST (UK)  »
I was watching my TV earlier today when most of the screen went black apart from a small area in the corner of the screen which also went black after a couple of seconds. The sound is unaffected.
I've looked at the manual for the TV (Panasonic), it wasn't any help. After some Googling I tried unplugging both ends of connected devices (Hard drive dvd recorder, NOW TV stick) and reconnected. No joy. Unplugged all electrical leads and reconnected. It's not a smart TV but I can connect via the NOW TV stick.

Is my telly kaput?  :-[

Technical Help / Vodafone 3G switch off
« on: Saturday 27 January 24 09:40 GMT (UK)  »
Vodafone have been sending me emails telling me that the 3G network is about to be switched off in favour of 4G. They I already have everything I need for a 4G connection, I just need to update some settings on my phone. This is where I encounter the problem, when I click to go to the update I choose which make of phone  (Samsung) and it comes up with a whole list of them, complete with pictures, but my phone isn't there. It's not as if it's an ancient model, I bought it late 2019 although these days that might be considered ancient.
There's no indication of exactly what settings I need to change.

I'm no technophobe but this is driving me mad. Can anyone help please?

The Stay Safe Board / Diary summary week ending 28th January
« on: Tuesday 23 January 24 09:36 GMT (UK)  »
Can't see any sign of a new diary thread this week so thought I'd start one.

All calm here after storm Isha, Jocelyn is on the way from midday but only a yellow warning whereas yesterday's was an amber warning. Sad to read of a couple of deaths due to the storm. Apparently we can expect such extremes of weather to continue due to climate change.  :-\

Technical Help / OTG device
« on: Wednesday 25 October 23 10:57 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone used one of these for data transfer? Apparently it stands for On The Go.

I use my Samsung tablet every day, the battery needs charging every day now and I'm worried that it will go the way of my previous tablet, ie won't charge at all so is rendered useless. I do have an SD card in the tablet for storage but I'd like to copy all of the data from the tablet to an external hard drive in case it does pack up.

I've been looking online at the OTG cable devices, there seem to be very few that would be suitable for my tablet, also I've found previously with other types of cables that despite the model number being listed it doesn't actually fit the device.

Has anyone used one of these? Any tips please?

« on: Monday 06 March 23 14:54 GMT (UK)  »
No-one seems to have started this week so here's a new diary week.

Snow forecast here, hope it doesn’t arrive. We've had a little light rain so far, I can put up with that.
